How to give players back lost items on a FiveM server

Updated ยท Goliath Scripts

Short answer: the safest way to give players back lost items on a FiveM server is a refund system instead of give commands. Staff builds a refund with items, money and vehicles, the player claims it in game once there is room, and the server locks the payout so nothing is paid twice. Goliath Refunds does this for ESX Legacy, QBCore and Qbox.

Why give commands cause problems

Items get lost after crashes, bugs or rollbacks, and staff usually fixes it with commands like /giveitem. That is slow, leaves no trail and loses item metadata such as serial numbers, ammo and attachments. When the player's inventory is full, items drop on the floor or vanish. And nothing stops a second staff member from handing out the same refund again.

What a proper refund process looks like

1. Build. Staff collects everything that was lost in one refund: items with metadata, money from any account and vehicles.

2. Assign. The refund goes to an online player or to any character by identifier, with a reason for the log.

3. Claim. The player opens their own window or enters a voucher code, checks the contents and confirms.

4. Check and pay. The server checks weight and slots for all items together, then pays out and closes the refund in the audit log.

How Goliath Refunds keeps payouts safe

The interface only sends a refund number or code. What is paid comes from the database. An atomic lock stops double clicks and parallel requests. If one entry fails, everything already handed out is taken back and checked, and stuck payouts are flagged for staff. Every step is written to an audit log with time and staff member, and can be sent to a Discord webhook. Vehicles go straight into the player's garage.

Questions

Can I refund a player who is offline?

Yes. Pick any character by identifier. The player claims the refund the next time they join.

Do weapons keep their serial number?

Yes. Serial numbers, ammo and attachments come back exactly as they were.

Can a voucher code be shared?

No. Each code only works for the character it was created for.
